Japan Journalism Conference a Success!
Thank you to my rockin’ crew for working their tails off and making the Far East Journalism Conference for High School Students a big hit.
They travelled to Tokyo, and spent 15 hours a day sharing their love for the profession with DoD students interested in pursuing careers in the field.
Jason Whitely, Senior Reporter at WFAA in Dallas, taught the kids all about creative storytelling and the basics of broadcast journalism. John Lane, Senior Photojournalist at WFAA, showed everyone the ropes of working a professional videocamera, along with highlights of effective storytelling through pictures and creative editing. Dan Crawford, a top-notch still photographer from Durham, NC, spent his time teaching students the art of capturing the moment in a style worthy of any publication. Check out some pics of the team in action in my photo gallery!
